Our mission at Lucky Dog is not to produce just run-of-the-mill dogs. Our mission was to import the best of the Irish working dog bloodlines to Texas.

While two entirely unique countries, Ireland and Texas have unique similarities. The weather and the terrain can be harsh. A working dog must be a loyal, but hard worker. You need a dog that is willing to work through the toughest conditions be it rain or heat, mountains or fields.

We chose our bloodlines because they exhibited the qualities that we wanted in a working dog. One that is loyal and ready to work, but can also relax and be part of the family at home. Both of our dogs exhibit these qualities.

This mission was inspired by our first Border Collie, Cookie, and the intelligence that the breed represents as well as our love for Ireland and the agricultural community there.
